After a long and prestigious career in his home country, Argentinean composer and keyboardist Juan “Pollo” Raffo releases his first solo album “Guarda que Viene el Tren / Música de Flores Volumen 1” (Watch Out! The Train is Coming / Music from Flores Volume 1) in the U.S.
Raffo’s original pieces combine the rhythms, the mood and the feeling of South American popular music with the improvisational spirit of jazz and the compositional procedures of classical music. In addition, the music conveys strong visual images, acting as a soundtrack for the movie in the listener’s mind. The band line-up includes Juan “Pollo” Raffo on keyboards, Daniel Johansen on saxophones, Andrés Rot on basses, Tomás Babjaczuk on drums and Beto Merino on percussion, plus several guest musicians.
